I have to say cooking on gas is under-rated, until you've tried to cook on electric. I was looking forward to the prospect of living in a village, then thought, oh no, no gas! Luckily, our village is in the 20th century and when we moved in, there was a brand spanking new gas stove... So much more reliable if you want to cook something, like an omelette. I hope you enjoy cooking with it :o)

Ian

I've never known temperatures like that, so I'd certainly like to experience it to see what it is like. I've waded through snow drifts and camped in a snow hole but it was nowhere near as cold as that. Have a nice hot chocolate for me!

Sure Jon, rub it in. It's about -28C here and has been snowing for 18 hours straight. The forecast is calling for the temperature to drop below -40C in the next day or so. Give me a hot chocolate recipe instead. :D

Hummus Guy

Thanks for the comment. We batch soak our chickpeas and freeze them for use later but I was in a hurry so I used canned on this occasion. Likewise, as mentioned elsewhere, this recipe was made within the limits of the detox & cleanse regime we on right now. Cheers!

That's an interesting variation. Note that the original recipe is based on dried chickpeas and tahini. It tastes better and far more nutritional. I have a simple recipe in my blog that yo can use. Also, I think you'd like the mesabcha (look under "recipes").
